CPD, Academy Sports donate bikes to 100 kids

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police and Academy Sports spread holiday cheer to 100 Chattanooga children today.

The two organizations partnered together to give 100 deserving kids bicycles for Christmas.

CPD surprised the children and their parents at the police station this afternoon.

Academy’s bike giveaway program benefits 5,500 children across 16 states.

“It truly was heart warming and heart felt to see all of the smiles, including the parents were super excited that someone was one relieving them from having to buy that extra Christmas gift, but also recognizing that they too have been a huge component of helping those kids get to school everyday,” said Sarah Land, the assistant principal at Brown Academy.

Lane helped determine which children would be rewarded.
