Emily’s List of Weekend Activities – May 19, 2018

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — There’s a lot to do in Chattanooga and in nearby cities this weekend.

The Tennessee Valley’s largest Christian music festival is happening all day Saturday.

You can check out several Christian performers throughout the day, like Unspoken, Britt Nicole, and Tenth Avenue North.

The event wraps up with a fireworks show.

The festival starts at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, at Camp Jordan Park.

If you head to Arrington, near Nashville, this weekend, get ready to take a trip back in time to 16th Century England for the Tennessee Renaissance Festival.

There, you can see more than 60 artisans from across the country, display their silks, swords and jewels at the Renaissance Marketplace.

There’s also plenty of specialty foods, drinks and music.

The event is happening both Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Arrington, Tennessee.

Have a drink or two, and explore the Chattanooga Zoo at the annual Spirits in the Wild event.

You can taste an unlimited variety of wines, beers and spirits from around the world, while sampling great food from local restaurants.

You can also hear live music by the Peter Moon Band, and, of course, see the animals.

The event is from 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday.

It’s almost summer, and temperatures are pretty warm out right now, so it’s only fitting that Dollywood’s Splash Country opens Saturday for the season.

The park is celebrating its 18th season with some upgrades, like new menu items, lounge chairs and landscaping, to make you feel like you’re on a mountain oasis getaway.

If you’re looking to cool off, the park is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
