9 year old critically wounded in shooting on Doolittle Street

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police are investigating a shooting on Doolittle Street.

It happened early Sunday morning.

Police were able to make contact with a female victim, a 9 year old, at a local hospital where she was suffering from a critical, but non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a local hospital by a personally owned vehicle.

Investigators were able to determine that a large disorder escalated to shots fired when the victim was injured.

Members of the Violent Crime Bureau are actively investigating this incident and ask anyone with further information to call 423-698-2525. More will be released when available.
