Rope Swing Accident Leaves 17-Year-Old Injured

Soddy-Daisy, TN (WDEF) – A 17-year-old female from Florida, visiting friends in Chattanooga, suffered injuries from a rope swing accident Saturday afternoon.

Officials from the Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department reported several teenagers were cliff jumping near Sequoyah Nuclear Plant at a location known as Denny’s Point.

It was early afternoon when a 9-1-1 call reported the 17-year-old plunged into the waters and lost consciousness after rope swimming.

Several people helped to move the injured female to a nearby boat and transport her to Shady Grove Marina in Soddy-Daisy, where Dallas Bay VFD personnel were waiting.

Rescue personnel reported she was taken to Children’s Hospital at Erlanger for treatment.
