Shooting on Murray Lake Lane

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – In the early morning hours on Saturday, the Chattanooga Police Department responded to a person shot on the 4700 block of Murray Lake Lane.

Upon arrival, officers were able to locate Gary Douglas, 25, who was suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Investigators were able to determine that the suspect, Dewayne Stanley, 24, had been kicking at the doors of this residence in an attempt to enter.

After gaining entry, Stanley shot Douglas after a verbal altercation.

Police were able to take Stanley into custody shortly after their arrival on scene.

Members of the Violent Crimes Bureau are actively investigating this incident.
