UPDATE: Second arrest made in E. 3rd Street homicide case

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police say they have made another arrest in the homicide of Areeyon Lane.

Ladarean Lane is now in custody at the Hamilton County Jail.

He is charged with Criminal Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Felony Reckless Endangerment, and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Dangerous Felony.

 


Previous Story: Chattanooga Police say a juvenile is facing several charges after a fatal shooting at a Speedway gas station on E. 3rd Street.

Around 3:45 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to the 1330 block of East 3rd Street for a Shots Fired call.

Chattanooga Police Officers says they found one person suffering from multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds.

That victim, 18 year old Areeyon Lane was transported to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS, but died from his injuries.

Investigators says when they arrived at the hospital, they were told that another person was being treated by medical staff for a single, non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

That person admitted to firing shots at the victim.

The suspect was transported to Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.

The juvenile suspect is charged with Criminal Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, and Felony Reckless Endangerment.

The Major Crimes Bureau is actively investigating this incident.
