Sandy “The Flower Man” Memorial

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – The Chattanooga community is invited to honor Sandy “The Flower Man” Bell in a memorial service and candle vigil today.

The service begins at 4:15pm at the John Henry Visual and Performing Arts Center at 1100 East 16th Street in Chattanooga. A candle vigil will take place at 5:15pm at the Sculpture Fields at 1800 Polk Street.

Public officials, Sandy’s family, and the Chattanooga community will share stories at the service about the man who brought beauty and color to Chattanooga for decades.

A Sandy “The Flower Man” Award has been set up and the inaugural recipient will be Sandy. His sister, Harriet Sills will accept the award on his behalf and in representation of his family.

Parking will be available at lot 1 at 1800 Polk Street and Lot 2 at 1550 Gulf Street.
