NFL Player Feeds Hungry At Community Kitchen

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Tre Herndon is known for his exploits on the Football field…

His career started right here in the Tennessee Valley at East Hamilton and has lead him all the way to the NFL with  Jacksonville Jaguars.

While Tre is a Great Player on the field he is a even better person off it.

Tre says growing up in Chattanooga he always wanted to be able to give back to the community. Now he is doing just that he hosted the first Humbling hands event at the Chattanooga community kitchen feeding dozens of people.

Tre says “I know a lot of guys come and do camps and I felt like being able to do something small like you know nobody really want to pass up a meal and just being able to feed anybody that may not be able to get a meal on their own would be a pretty big thing for me.”

Herndon was serving more than just meals at the community kitchen he was passing out smiles…..

“I love seeing people smile and a hot meal will make anyone’s day so being able to serve someone and seeing them smile seeing people eat have a good time that is really big for me.”

This may have been Tre’s first charity event here in the scenic city but it he says it won’t be his last….

“Hopefully in the future we can do football camps anything that can help the community really from kids to adults anything where I can help.”
